The kitchen, in a superlative way, is a large part of the idiosyncrasies of an ethnic group, or even an entire country. Indigenous culinary traditions are passed on for generations: true to the pinch of this seasoning or that ingredient, small experimental variations, have all been incorporated into our menu. For the authentic experience, we chose to use top quality organic ingredients in our recipes.
We began our operations in 2011 in a modest space with just 12 chairs. Since then, as a family restaurant, we have brought authentic Colombian flavors to the suburbs of Chicago. Thanks to the warm reception from the community, we needed to move to a larger location.
Our recipes, passed down through generations, offer that same homemade taste you’d expect from grandma’s kitchen, without adding too many "seasonings," allowing you to enjoy the true flavor of our cuisine. Our menu features traditional dishes from the Valle del Cauca, Pacific, and Andean regions of Colombia, including, of course, our version of the national dish par excellence, La Bandeja Paisa, not to mention the deliciousness of La Chuleta Valluna.
We take pride in cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients to ensure a culturally impactful dining experience, such as our arepas; we soak, cook, and grind the corn to get a smooth dough, allowing us to serve a tasty arepa in all the different presentations we offer.
Colombian's Taste is proof that the American dream exists as long as one works with consistency, discipline, and honesty.
